Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

Is your shop open?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we're open! Browse our full collection and place your order today.

Question 2

Can I order a personalised item?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Most of our products can be personalised — simply add your details at the product page before adding to your basket.

Question 3

Do you take custom or bespoke orders?

Accepted Answer

We love working on special requests. If you have something in mind that isn't in our standard range — a specific character combination, a different size, or a bespoke piece for a special occasion — get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

Question 4

Can I order in bulk for a business or event?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we're happy to discuss trade or bulk orders for nurseries, gift shops, baby shower favours, and similar. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements and we'll put together a quote.

Question 5

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal. All payments are processed securely — we never store your card details.

Question 6

How do I personalise my order?

Accepted Answer

Simply enter your personalisation details on the product page when you add an item to your basket. You'll choose your character, enter the name or text you'd like, and select your preferred engraving style.

Question 7

What if I make a spelling mistake?

Accepted Answer

We reproduce personalisation exactly as submitted, so please double-check all spellings and details carefully before placing your order. We're unable to offer replacements for errors that were present in your original submission.

Question 8

Can I use a name with special characters or accents?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we can accommodate accented characters (é, ü, ñ, etc.) and most special characters. If you're unsure whether your name can be reproduced, just get in touch before ordering.

Question 9

Can I have two names on one piece?

Accepted Answer

Some of our products support two names — for example, twin name plaques or keepsake boxes for siblings. Check the product description for details, or contact us if you'd like something specific.

Question 10

What wood do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use birch plywood for our pieces, selected for its smooth finish and suitability for laser cutting and engraving. All our wood is sourced from UK and European suppliers.

Question 11

Are your paints and finishes safe for children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our pieces are finished with a natural beeswax polish and child-safe sealant. All finishes are non-toxic and low-VOC, making them suitable for nursery use.

Question 12

Are your products suitable for a newborn's room?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our pieces are designed for nursery use and are finished with non-toxic, low-VOC materials. Wall-mounted pieces should always be fixed securely by an adult and positioned out of reach of children.

Question 13

How should I care for my Whimble Wood piece?

Accepted Answer

Wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth if needed. Avoid soaking or submerging in water. Keep out of direct sunlight to preserve the colours. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasive cloths.

Question 14

Are your products sustainably made?

Accepted Answer

We do our best. We use birch plywood from UK and European suppliers, natural beeswax finishes, and minimal packaging — our boxes are made from recycled cardboard and are fully recyclable. We're a small workshop and we care about doing things the right way.

Question 15

How long will my order take?

Accepted Answer

Standard production takes 3–5 working days. During peak periods (such as Christmas and Mother's Day) this may extend to 7–10 working days — we'll always let you know. Standard delivery adds 2–3 working days on top of that. Express options will be available at checkout for an additional charge.

Question 16

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Accepted Answer

At the moment we ship within the UK only. International shipping is something we're working towards — sign up to our newsletter and we'll let you know when it becomes available.

Question 17

Can I track my order?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, we'll email you a tracking number so you can follow its journey to your door.

Question 18

What if my order doesn't arrive?

Accepted Answer

If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us and we'll investigate with the courier. If your order is confirmed lost, we'll remake and reship it at no cost to you.

Question 19

Can I send my order directly to a gift recipient?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Just enter the recipient's address at checkout. We include a gift note option so you can add a personal message — and we never include pricing information in the parcel.

Question 20

Are your products suitable as baby shower gifts?

Accepted Answer

They're one of our most popular gift choices. A personalised name plaque or keepsake box makes a thoughtful, lasting gift that stands out from the usual baby shower fare. If you're ordering before the baby's name is confirmed, get in touch — we can sometimes arrange to hold an order until the name is ready.

Question 21

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer a gift wrapping option at checkout — your piece will be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a branded gift box with a ribbon. You can also add a handwritten gift note.

Question 22

Can I order if I don't know the baby's name yet?

Accepted Answer

Yes — contact us before ordering and we can hold your order until you're ready to provide the personalisation. This is especially useful for baby shower gifts ordered before the birth.

Question 23

Do you offer e-gift cards?

Accepted Answer

We're planning to offer digital gift cards soon. Sign up to our newsletter to be notified when they become available.
